Lipstick

I love the full contact that wipes the skin clean
My fingers are all sticky from touching the wounds
but I’ll never dress you in her clothes
To make you your own
All alone
Your lips are tainted red

Soon as you come
I fade away
And I just miss the truth
Like I always do
with you

Now your fate is sealed
I’ve somehow healed
and the scars will celebrate
that you’re wearing her clothes
to become all that
your lips are tainted with the red

Soon as you come
I fade away
And I just miss the truth
Like I always do
with you

I always

The wound is in your hair
I put it there
smeared it, cleared it
always feared it
never again went near it
There’s life in your hair
and it’s there
because I care
like you care about it anyway

Soon as you come
I fade away
And I just miss the times
that you used to be true
Like I always do
with you
always
with you
always
always

This begins the Lovers EP.  The second Blindsight “album” is a direct continuation of the first.  These were written, by and large, during the aftermath of the events that led to the conception of Midas Touch.  It was also the step before I took a six-year break from the style, mainly because I believed it to be contained to these two “albums.” Boy was I wrong.
